One of the eponymous masters of the French Modernism movement, Adnet literally grew up with the twentieth century. Born in 1904, his career was bolstered with influences from art deco, modernism, and his own personal restraint for the utmost simplicity in geometry. Many signature pieces also involved for fitting leather wrappings around cast iron bodies. Today, designers are heavily influenced by Adnet pieces- think Ralph Lauren, Restoration Hardware-- as any of these pieces would be at home in a contemporary space.
The last photo is my own creation from last winter- during a gloomy work day and somewhat inspired by Andet's purity of form.
